The most glorious piece of film with themes I'm not interested in ever put together.

On the first place, let me tell you I'll probably change these posts and make an entire or small review of the films I'm posting right here, just not to overload the blog with posts on the same subject.

With that said, let's go to more important things.

So, this happened. Me and my boyfriend were watching trailers and deciding what movie to watch on the cinema last night. And, between The Danish Girl, and Bridge of Spies, and all those other Oscar nominees out there, The Big Short caught our eye. It seemed a tad bit complicated, but also fun and, you know what, none of us was in the mood for a too sentimental story about lova and death and justice and whatever, really. So economics looked good... And we were so right!

The Big Short is kind of a documentary filmed like a movie... Or maybe a movie filmed like a documentary, idk but, either way, is a film that gets interesting because of the story and the implications on real life. Despite having some great performances (Christian Bale is superb!) you're not supposed to be strongly invested in the characters, but in what's happening, and it was really surprising for me when I discovered that, for some unknown reason, it actually works!
It is not, of course, the easiest  movie ride, since the themes are complex and the viewer must pay attention to what's going on. However, even regarding that, the director and writters have the care to explain everything that's goin' on in a funny, carefree way, which makes the film envolving and perfectly understandable.
The pacing is great, and it keeps all exciting, even with you knowing from the beginning what's going to happen, generally speaking.
A high quality piece on a very difficult subject to approach, that makes you understand a little bit more about the world crisis and how banking money actually works, and how the economic crisis was able to affect everybody.
